Hello and thank you for visiting.

I have the pleasure of having two grown sons both succeeding in what they are doing. Along with that I have a wonderful daughter-in-law, two beautiful grand-daughters, three spoiled rotten grand-puppies, two of my own spoiled furkids, and one very patient husband for the last 30+ years.

After 30 years in Health Care I was given the opportunity to start my own business. For Your Pet was born in March 2003. My initial inspiration was my cocker spaniel Buffy. She had been around since the boys were young. I remember when Buffy would come home from the groomers with her new bandana on and just prance around and strut her stuff showing off her new attire. She would be so happy with her new bandana that she would do this for days. This brought true happiness into all of our lives. Delighted with Buffy’s enjoyment of her bandana, I decided to make her a new one. I cut up an old shirt I had and dressed her in it. The next thing you know, she was prancing again. I realized that she loved the idea of looking good. She was a true Diva. So I continued to make new bandanas. I started doing one for each of the holidays, soon finding myself making more and more in between. Buffy loved every second of it, patiently waiting for the next one to get completed.

In 2000, we decided to get another dog, a fluffy little golden retriever that we named Avree. Buffy and Avree became the BEST of FRIENDS. Buffy soon started teaching the young Avree how to be a loving but spoiled dog. Buffy would prance around with her head high up in the air and tailing right along behind her would be a little Avree trying to prance just the same. What a sight.

Buffy left us and went to Rainbow Bridge in September 2002 at the wise old age of 18. This poem was given to me by someone and helped to ease my pain: If It Should Be.

Buffy and Avree’s love for looking good got me thinking. I first thought of the boring single color collars they wore. I wondered if these single colored collars were decorated whether they would bring out the confident and sparkling side of my Avree. So I started out by making covers for collars. Avree loved them. Then another thought, what about actually making collars out of cute fabrics. That was the JACKPOT! I have been making them ever since. To this day, Avree prances and struts her stuff every time she gets a new collar thanks to the loving example Buffy set.

Avree has now shown our newest addition, Jessie (another Golden) how to show her appreciation of the Diva lifestyle. Anything Avree does, Jessie needs to do too. She has become Avree’s shadow. After a couple of years of Diva training I now have two 100 pound Divas to proudly sport my fine collars.

Since I started making collars in 2003 my fabric selection has grown to over 350. I have three sewing machines and a room dedicated specifically to my collars. All of my products are made in a smoke free environment.

Through the years I have met so many wonderful people and aspire to meet many more. I pride myself on excellent customer service and providing top notch quality products. To me, no pet is too big or too small.
